The National Arabic Music Ensemble The founding of this ensemble in 1989,under the supervision of Dr. Ratiba El Hefny and conducted by Selim .Sahab, has let to the revival of such masterpieces of Arabic Music known as classical heritage. The ensemble's objective is to collect this musical heritage from various Arab nations and present it in an academic content. Soloists from different Arab countries are invited to participate in the Ensemble's performances. During its first year, the
ensemble won the Golden Medal and its conductor the Silver Medal, at the
1989 Babylon Festival, from among 45 competitors from different countries.
The ensemble also performed at the Corthage Festival Tunis 1990). and the
Silk Road Festival (Japan 1991).
